This is by far the best haunted attraction I have ever done. If you want a good scare this is where you need to go. It's not campy, and the actors never break character. It is definitely worth the $10 donation.

I peed my pants

I really liked the trailer. IT WAS SO DARK! You had to feel your way along the walls because you couldn't see anything. People would jump out of nowhere and scream at you. I literally peed my pants!

it was so scary

I loved how nice all of the workers were. How scary it was, was unbelievable. I feel like the wait time wasn't that long. It was so cool how they set it up and how different it was from all haunted woods I've been at. It was so amazing overall the scares were crazy.

I was terrified.

I loved it but also was terrified the whole time. I begged for people to let me skip parts I was so scared. The actors were so good at what they did and never broke character no matter how many funny things we said. It also can be funny depending on what group you go with or the character you're being scared by.

Can’t beat the price Definitely recommend!

First time going and went twice this year lol. And each time was really good they had added extra props on the second visit that was really cool! Definitely recommend it takes about a hour to get through everything give or take? And if you have a girlfriend or wife that gets scared you will laugh so hard lol!!

Best haunted Trail!!

This was hands down the best haunted trail I have been to!! We will definitely be back next year!!! And the kids loved it and my 16 year old got scared! So it was a success!!

NEVER EVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED!

I always talk this haunt up and anytime I bring someone new I'm always a little worried "what if it's not good or what if I remember it wrong" but every year they never fail. I've been 4 times and have never been disappointed. It still scares the crap out of me even after 4 years. Thank you to all the ppl that make that possible. Best haunt in Southern IL for sure.

this is amazing!

I will go back! This was absolutely phenomenal! Not joking when I say I almost passed out from getting a really good scare in the cornfield! Definitely understand why the age preferred is 10+ because this is insane!! You’re going to run, scream, and get lost (a few times or more). Completely worth it!! 20 out of 10 ! Great job to everyone that worked so hard on this. Just amazing!

Haunted man horse creek

It was a great haunted trail/house the reason I give the on my three star review, is because it didn’t meet my “scare the pants off” expectations. Even though it wasn’t the best in scare the burlap sack man is real and does still lerk the back trail.

awesome Haunt compares to some of the big names

If you are into hayrides, haunted trails, corn mazes, and blackout rooms, you get it all at this location! $10 but definitely should cost way more than they ask for! Definitely recommend to anyone who loves a good scare this place stands up to alot of the bigger haunted houses we go to!!!!

Was really excited to try this haunt out. Great location, plenty of opportunity to scare, however fell way short. The narrator did a great job and setting up the trail and providing background to the haunt. Corn fields are always scary, many places to jump out and surprise the guests, well this didn't happen. There were not many scare actors in the corn field, what a let down. Then, a pitch dark trailer, not very scary. If I wanted to walk around in pitch dark I can go into my basement.Underwhelming to say the least but great snacks and story.

This was our first time visiting but won't be our last. The story told at the beginning really sets you up for the trail ahead. Each group was given a flashlight, but warned it may intentionally change colors or go dark as you maneuver the trail. If you enjoy a good adrenaline rush, this is the place to go. The scarers were very realistic and convincing. I really love that it's a not-for-profit organization and the money goes to a great cause in the surrounding communities. Other positives include: on-site concessions and fire pit for keeping warm when waiting your turn.

Absolutely wonderful!!!

I’ve visited a lot of haunted attractions from Indy to St. Louis but this spook walk earns the top spot! The atmosphere from the beginning is creepy from the drop off in the backwoods to the haunted forests and dark corn fields, it’s every haunt enthusiasts dream. Highly recommend and will be returning next year!

AMAZING!!!

Absolutely the best haunted anything around! The cost was far below its worth as well. So scary my boyfriend actually used me as a shield at one point 😂. It was my second time going. The first time was a few years back with my kids and they loved it too, talked about it for days.

Great Experience

We went to The Haunting at Horse Creek on their last night of the 2022 season. It was well worth the hour and fifteen minute drive! The story teller at the beginning of the trail has a great way of pulling everyone in from the very beginning, and keeps you thinking about what was told throughout your journey. Admission was donation based. They were also serving drinks and food, as well as keeping a fire pit going for everyone waiting in line. Will definitely go back again!

Unique Among Haunted Attractions

There are loads of really good haunted events in and around southern Illinois but there isn't anyone anywhere like Horse Creek. The whole thing is story driven and has a natural creepiness you can't put your finger on. I can't recommend The Haunting at Horse Creek highly enough.

Chainsaw chase and corn maze had me in tears!!!

I went to The Haunting at Horse Creek with a group of my friends last weekend. It was amazing! The chainsaws chased us through the corn maze and had me in tears. My friends had an awesome time! I highly recommend it and will for sure go again.

Best scare ever

I went to this the last year it was open and it was amazing. When I found out it was open again this year I was so excited and let me just say I was not disappointed. This is always the best scare and the price is extremely good especially compared to out haunts around the area. You can count on seeing me again next year.

The Storyteller Made The Trip!

I attended the haunting with my husband and four of our children, a set of triplets who are 10, and a daughter who is 9. It was scary enough that the kids were scared, but not so scary they were petrified. As an adult, I would love to go through without the kiddos again so I can enjoy it. The entire thing is just creepy. There’s nothing better to scare a person than making them walk through woods at night. But what sets this haunting apart is the storyteller at the very beginning. He is very animated and makes you feel like you’re in the story. Our kids, and even myself, we’re hanging on every word. And throughout the adventure our kids kept saying, “remember when he said this…” It was a fantastic time had by all, and I highly recommend it!

FUN

My family of 7 with kids ranging from 8-17 had an absolute BLAST and rarely do all enjoy the same thing.The workers were all great, and we found the storyline they followed and the different types of scenes were great! It was pretty darn creepy! Highly recommend if your looking for a fun night. 5 stars all day!

Love the different places. The price was perfect for those who are low income. Also loved how one was completely dark and it was a maze. I have never experienced anything like it before. Unique story line

A unique story line that had us all enthralled with its presentation. There were beasts and ghosts lurking in the dark corners as we crossed the trail. Hay ride was enjoyable. It was the best and had fun and jump scares. The artists were skilled and they knew how to evoke fear. Some were funny also. The hayride has great exhibits and was creatively designed. It was like entering a different world filled with scary figures and other hellish looking monsters. On the whole a very neatly executed trail and hayride. Don’t mind returning back for the next Halloween season.

It is the story telling that makes the Haunting at Horse Creek experience interesting. The scary elements of the tale start to pick your brain when you’re stranded in the haunted trail. The props, light effects and the creepy looking characters soon starts to overwhelm your resolve. More often than not, you can’t anticipate the scares. My GF screamed out loud multiple times. It was lots of scary fun out there. The actors were professional and their costumes and makeup were top-notch. I will come again for sure, probably with my friends.

A treat for haunt lovers

The Haunting at Horse Creek is a treat for haunt fans. I and my friends visited the place and had an absolute blast. Its haunted trail and hayride had some of the best scares I’d ever seen. The hayride is light-hearted. But the mood changes once the wagon stops in the dark woods. The story sets the tone for what lies ahead. Each group has only one flashlight and we are left to tread the unguided walk. Scary figures could emerge from all sides anytime and scare you out of your wits. There was lots of screaming going on all around. Ticket prices were reasonable too. I will come again.

We have been visiting this place and surprisingly get bigger and better. I was never disappointed. The event has two main attractions, the hayride and haunted trail. Both were equally good. The haunt trail was terror infested. We had a scary good time and were glad it was over. It was the actors and the make up that excelled. The cast followed a storyline and did hold on till the end without a break. The costume department worked hard on the outfits and they were all quite unique. We had fun, laughter and of course fear, that was ultimate. Coming back again.

Right mix of scares, props and fun

I can vouch that this was one of the best haunts I’d visited of late. It had the right mix of scares, props and fun. The dark woods and haunted trail were well designed. The story at the beginning was the best part and it sows the seeds of fear in your mind. Once you’re on your own in the dark, the story starts to play havoc in your mind. You can’t say when some creepy character jumps on your way. To be honest, I screamed my lungs out when it happened. Overall, it was an exciting and scary 45 minutes in the dark. I am planning to bring my wife along next time.

Eclectic mix of fun and fear

Hayrides and trails has always been our favorite due to its eclectic mix of fun and fear. I really love the way actors plan out the scenes. The trail had enough jump scares to get your heart pounding. It was really funny running around in dimly lit surroundings not knowing what to expect next. Kids do get more scared. We were in small teams and split into different directions. This made us feel isolated and the fear in us grew. A great entertainment option you can plan to spend with family and friends.

So creepyyy

It was by accident that I and couple of my friends ended up at the Haunting at Horse Creek. But it was worth the ride and the money spent on tickets. The initial hayride is fun with little or no scares. But the haunted trail had some nice nerve wracking scares and props. You can’t anticipate when those creepy looking characters have a go at you. The fact that your group got only one flashlight won’t help your matters either. Actor makeup looked realistic. The staff was friendly too. Recommend this place to everyone.

Not enough scary

Took my son for his first haunted attraction and we all are very disappointed with the overall experience. The hayride was good but not enough scary. The trail was just a walk through decorated trees. We expected a lot of jump scares in every turns…may be they are short in staff. All we got feared was it was too dark.

My kids love Horse Creek. It has been two years in a row, they’ve never repeated anything. Excellent hayride and the walk in the dark woods were damn scary. We all got spooked and enthralled by the sounds of the night toy. Can’t wait to see them next year.

Our group has made this a yearly tradition for a night of fun. The organizers are great at making changes every year so you aren't seeing the same thing over and over. The workers are all great from beginning to end. We love the fear factor. It's just enough to make you look over your shoulder. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into this facility.

The whole thing looked so professional and clean and the actors were guinuenly scary as well as the special effects makeup put into it. You also donate to a charity which makes you feel good about crapping yourself

The haunting at horsecreek is definitely a must see!! Definitely worth the money and it also donates to charity . overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back with other friends. So much to experience and to actually be in a spooky environment was so awesome

The best! Definitely worth your time!

Definitely worth your time! All volunteer work and the money goes to relay for life that alone makes it worth it! You won’t be disappointed!

Enjoyed ghost story and hayride

This was my second visit. Amazing I could say. We enjoyed ghost storytelling and hayride in to the dark woods. It was so scary and I could see my friends screaming and jumping. The team work is great. The performers are well trained. Would love to visit them again next year.

We visited Horse creek last weekend and loved it! High standard details and well-organized hayride. The walk in the dark woods is full of terror and scintillating performance delivered by all actors. Very friendly staffs, as they helped us with a pair of shoes for the walk. Highly recommended.

horror and fun adventures

Kids were excited and had lots of fun. Best place to spend a night enjoying horror and fun adventures. Unguided walk through the dark is really a wonderful experience. Definitelywill be back next year.

Great rate for a great cause. If your looking for a good scare this is the place. It lasts longer than other places that our overpriced. Its not always the same people or the same scares if you go multiple times during the season. There's a awesome story at the beginning to set the mood before you set out in the woods. There's concessions and firepits while you wait to get on the wagon.
